On Friday 15 December 2017, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Malta hosted a reception celebrating Qatar’s National Day on December 18. National Day, which was attended by Her Excellency Marie Louis Coleiro Preca, President of Malta, Hon. Carmelo Abela, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Hon. Dr George Vella, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with several Ambassadors, dignitaries, and friends of Qatar.

His Excellency Ali bin Saad Al-Kharji, Ambassador of Qatar, extended a special welcome to the President, and conveyed the heartfelt salutation of His Highness the Emir Sheikh/ Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, and the gratitude of the Government and People of Qatar for the consistent and effective support of the Government and People of Malta.

The Ambassador recalled the excellent working relationships with Dr Vella who gave importance to further enhance the Qatari-Maltese cooperation, and that they were honoured by his inaugurating of the Embassy’s new premises last April.  The Ambassador also stated that the Government of Qatar is looking forward to working with Dr. Abela, to reach common goals serving the interest of both countries.
