His Excellency Ali bin Saad Al Kharji, Ambassador of the State of Qatar, and Deputy Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, held a farewell ceremony in honor of Her Excellency Zahra Ladgham, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to the Republic of Malta, and Giovanni Humberto De Vito, Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Malta. The ceremony was held at the official residence of the Ambassador of Qatar, in "Al-Wajba Palace" in Madeleine.
At the beginning of the ceremony, there was the speech of the host, His Excellency Ali Al-Kharji, in which he expressed his appreciation as the Deputy Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, for the opportunity of hosting this event. He thanked the distinguished Ambassadors Ladgham and De Vito for the hard work they had done during their time in Malta and their efforts to engage with the civil society. The Ambassador of the State of Qatar pointed out his confidence and hope that even as they left, both Ambassadors had consolidated the firm foundations for greater cooperation and collaboration, and the good that unites our peoples will continue to prosper and strengthen in the coming years, and wished them success in their new journey.
Her Excellency Zahra Ladgham delivered a short speech in which she underlined her deep gratitude to the Ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps for this generous gesture, and the celebration in her honor. The Ambassador of Tunisia also emphasized her good feelings towards the hospitable people of Malta, where she experienced cooperation, love and appreciation during her tenure at the resident Ambassador of Tunisia.
For his part, His Excellency Giovanni De Vito elaborated on the happiness he enjoyed during his time in Malta, in view of the strong relations, and the geographical, linguistic and cultural ties between the Italian, and the Maltese people. The nice memories and impressions he would carry with him, will remain forever in his mind, and will contribute to the work for the strengthening of bilateral connections between the two countries, explained the Italian Ambassador.
At the time of presentation of gifts, His Excellency Ali Kharji presented a farewell memento, which was prepared by the Apostolic Nunciature, to the two departing Ambassadors.
